DATUM EXPERIMENT SUBMISSION

THEORY

THEORY:

The building is an open and cohesive space with few walls, encouraging interaction and co-operation. This design facilitates seamless transitions between rooms for both students and teachers. Consequently, the circulation is the exploration of ‘the bridge’, where spaces are both physically and metaphorically bridged.

How will we cope with the volatile changes that the environment presents us with? In a chaotic university campus, students rush to late classes, catch busses and complete deadlines, where the lack of time creates a disconnection from others. There is a need for a space that allows students to feel centred, calm and allow them to focus in the present.
